Special Branch Officers On Islands For Counter Terrorism Exercises

Two Special Branch police officers have spent the weekend on the islands as part of the national project, Kraken.

The programme encourages people to report suspicious activity around the UK coastline so officers can counter terrorism or organised criminal activity.

The men were accompanied by a member of the harbourmaster’s team on board the Pegasus yesterday. Officers boarded five yachts including some moored in the Tresco Channel to check the sailors’ credentials and ask whether they had seen anything suspicious.

Their three-day visit ends tomorrow.
