Off-Islands Workers Fined For Public Disorder

A day spent drinking in St Mary’s pubs yesterday proved costly for two off-islands-based seasonal workers.

The noise they were making in the Bank area of Hugh Town at around 4.00pm was noticed by PC Mat Collier. Mat says when he approached the men, they were offensive and their language and behaviour encouraged him to radio to his colleague PC Mark Blyth to assist him in an arrest.

They were put in the cells, missed their boat back and will now have to pay £80 fixed penalty tickets each for public disorder.
