MP Attacks Health Care Reforms Again

Scilly MP Andrew George has again attacked govt policy over the proposed health service reforms.

In 2013, Primary Care Trusts will be abolished and consortia of GPs will commission services but Andrew George fears it will lead to privatisation of services.

He said that government plans are at odds with the Coalition agreement, which promised to “stop the top-down reorganisations of the NHS that had got in the way of patient care.”

He says it’s not what Lib Dems signed up for in the coalition.

Andrew George has asked David Cameron, who is on holiday in Cornwall, to attend a public meeting he’s arranged to debate the Health and Social Care Bill.

Mr George, says reforms would undermine the NHS and create a health system driven more by profit than by concern about patient care.
