Favourable Tides Expected For Inter-Island Walk

This year there are favourable tides again for the annual Inter-Island Charity Walk on Wednesday 28th September.

The RNLI event allows 100 sponsored walkers to cross from St. Martin’s to Tresco through Samson and Bryher in the low tidal water caused by the Autumn equinox.

The event is supported by a team of volunteers – Bryher Boatshare are offering two of the three safety boats and ten stewards and four lifeguards will also give up their time.

Clare Lewis, who organises the walk, says this is a unique opportunity to see the islands from a completely different vantage in a safe and enjoyable way.

This year there is a minimum of £50 to be raised per walker. Cash is shared between the RNLI, the Marine Conservation Society, Surfers Against Sewage and The Isles of Scilly Seabird Recovery Project.

Registration forms are available at St Mary’s Bike Hire.
