Holiday Company Looking For New Guesthouses To Promote

Peninnis Head, St Mary's

A holiday company that deals mainly with high street travel agents is trying to find more guesthouses that it can promote in its brochure, because of the success to date of their Scilly breaks.

Prestige holidays, who view themselves as an upmarket provider, promote our islands alongside Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

Sales of Scilly holidays have gone up by 10% year on year and look likely to reach a 12% increase and demand is exceeding that for the Channel Islands.

Company Director, David Nash says the company are looking to increase the number of smaller guesthouses in their brochure next year. He has begun talking with guesthouses and says so far the response has been good but he’s keen to hear from others who would like to be featured.

David says people feel the islands are costly but that isn’t dissuading visitors. He says his clients like the peace and tranquillity that Scilly can offer and they like the idea of a place where there are no lager louts.
