French Sailor Rescued From Sea Off Tresco

Cromwell's Castle on Tresco

The St Mary’s lifeboat was prepared for launch last night, for the rescue of a French man who was in the water in Pentle Bay off Tresco, but in the end it wasn’t needed.

Falmouth Coastguard heard a mayday message on VHF radio from The Boabad at 6.40pm after the male ended up in the sea swimming after his tender.

Bryher jet boat, The Cyclone, got to the scene straight away and took the man on board and delivered him to his boat. He didn’t need any medical attention.
