Police Called to Gathering At Little Porth Property

St Mary’s Police say they are disappointed that a group of up to 40 young people congregated on private property on Little Porth early on Wednesday morning.

Elderly residents of the property called police at 1.00am as they thought there was a prowler outside.

PC Mark Blyth answered the callout and told us that some of the group of islanders and seasonal workers in their late teens and twenties appeared unrepentant.

When he suggested that they use their own gardens, one member of the party replied that they couldn’t do that because “their mum wouldn’t let them”. He wants to know why they feel they can use somebody else’s outdoor space.

But Mark said they did clear up discarded bottles and cans before leaving.
