Four-Day Outdoor Theatre Run Begins

A four-day run of live theatre began on the islands yesterday evening at Tresco Abbey Gardens.

The Miracle Theatre Company arrived, complete with props and set, on the Scillonian III on Wednesday for their performance of ‘The Death of Sherlock Holmes’, which continues this evening in the chaplaincy gardens on St Mary’s.

Rebecca Rowe plays four characters but she says that getting to grips with multiple roles wasn’t too tough and it’s actually quite fun playing a different part in every scene.

And she says working outdoors can have it’s pitfalls, especially if it’s windy – they’ve had ‘malfunctions’ with the scenery which she says are actually very funny for the audience.

Tickets are available from the Tourist Information Centre.
