Police Give Warning About Cannabis Use

Police have dealt with two incidents involving the use of cannabis on the islands over the past two days.

PC Mat Collier said a man was given a warning for cannabis possession yesterday evening.

He told us he’s also spoken to “a couple of people” after smelling cannabis in the Town Hall area this morning.

Mat says he’d like to remind people that cannabis is still a Class B drug and it’s possession and use is illegal.

He said that a conviction for drug use can also affect someone’s ability to travel, especially to the US adding that someone received an £80 fine earlier in the season for possession of the drug.
