St Martin’s Hotel Up For Sale

St Martin's Hotel

St Martins Hotel is for sale after a judge has forced the business to be sold.

The court, acting for owner Peter Sykes’ late wife Penny, wants to realise the value of her share of the business for her estate.

In a statement to Radio Scilly yesterday, General Manager Keith Bradford says he hopes to be able to buy the hotel with Peter Sykes “once a fair market price has been established.”

Keith says it is “business as normal” and suppliers shouldn’t be affected.

There’s been a period of uncertainty over the hotel’s direction over the last few years. Plans were approved for a major refurbishment and upgrade of the rooms last year and work was due to have been underway last autumn and winter.

The plan was to extend the season to around 10 months a year and some guests changed accommodation plans assuming the hotel would be closed.

However, the work hasn’t taken place.
