Man Airlifted From French Trawler Off Islands

RNAS rescue helicopter from RAF Culdrose

A French fisherman was airlifted off a fishing boat 45 miles southwest of the islands last night.

The RNAS Culdrose helicopter was called out to the boat, the Sextant, just after 11.30pm

The man broke his arm near the wrist and crew and French doctors were concerned about his condition and wanted him to be given medical attention urgently.

Falmouth Coastguard spoke to our hospital at St Mary’s but they felt he should go to Treliske.
