Twynham Hits Century In St Martin’s V. St Mary’s T20 Match

Report by Colin Daly

The T20 match between St. Martin’s and St.Mary’s on Thursday evening, 14th July, was one for the record books rather than for the connoisseurs of cricket matches.

St. Mary’s won the toss and decided to bat first. Mark Twynham came in at number one and after some early near misses got his eye in quickly and proceeded to smite the ball in a way that betrayed his skill at the game of golf.

He scored 105 not out with eight 4s and ten 6s.

Various partners came and went until the innings was declared at 183 for 4.

The St. Martin’s batsmen knew that the only way to win was to try to attack the bowling but they all fell for single figures in the attempt.

So a century for M. Twynham and very little else to report.
