School To Change Working Patterns For Teaching Assistants

New Five Islands School, due to open in September

The working patterns for teaching assistants at the Five Islands School is set to change this autumn.

Headteacher Bryce Wilby says the 20 full time and part time teaching assistants will be able to move around their specialism within the school, rather than being committed to a certain class, which has been the traditional model.

Bryce says the staff are very positive about the changes, adding that they recognise this will allow them to make best use of their teaching strengths and will give them more variety during their working day.
