Man Injures Hand In Drunken Incident Outside Scillonian Club

Police dealt with an incident last weekend where a young man was injured when he smashed his hand through a pane of glass.

The incident occurred outside the Scillonian Club and followed an evening where it was alleged the man had been drinking heavily.

PC Mat Collier says the man had allegedly been “mine sweeping”, or going around the Club drinking other people’s drinks and Mat stressed that the Club had not served the man excess alcohol.

Following an argument outside the Club, the man smashed his hand through a window, severing an artery and badly lacerating his knuckles.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment.

He has since apologised to the residents of the property with the damaged window and offered to pay for the damage. Police say no charges have been brought in connection with the incident.
