St Agnes Residents Plan New Community Space

St Agnes Hall, site of the proposed development

St Agnes islanders have met to plan their new community workspace proposals for the Island Hall.

The project will house island-based small businesses and a community meeting and function space.

Last Friday, the steering group met with the architect on site and used models to decide the best use of the space.

There’s no building design on paper at the moment but residents have suggested a contemporary design for an extension on the back of the building. The building presently suffers from mould and damp and needs new toilets and a new kitchen.

It should go before planners in November and work should start next summer.

The Local Action Group and European Convergence cash will fund the £1 millon scheme for the hall and improvements to the road from the Quay.
