No Sunday Papers As Special Scillonian Sailing Cancelled

Islanders won’t get to read the Observer or News of the World this Sunday.

The only planned Sunday sailing of the Scillonian III this year has been cancelled, just three days before it was meant to sail.

And that means we won’t have the rare treat of Sunday papers at the weekend.

The sailing was arranged as £35 return fare promotion for a mainland radio station.

The Steamship Company won’t comment on the reason for the cancellation but Radio Scilly believes only around 60 bookings had been made by midweek.

Last May another Sunday sailing, arranged for the Samaritans, was called off with just days to go.
