Chance To Take A Peek Inside The New School

If you weren’t able to see inside the new school during the Queens visit, then today and tomorrow you’ll have another chance.

Bryan Trethewey of Kier Westerns says the main structural work is now finished and the flooring is down, so most of the remaining workers are sorting electrics, finishing partitions and fitting out internal areas.

Bryan says you should get a feel for the layout and level of light that our students will be enjoying from September, and you’ll be able to view a sample classroom, the cafe area, library and the main hall.

A walkway has been laid out from Old Town Road and visitors will be shown around between 3pm and 7pm today and from 9am to 11am tomorrow morning.

The £15 million scheme is still expected to open one month ahead of schedule and it’ll be on budget.

Staff are likely to move in at the end of August to prepare for the lessons and get up to speed with new systems and pupils will begin the next school year there in September, instead of transferring over from the current bases in October as was originally planned.
