Massive Turnout For Art Group Exhibition

Yesterday’s display of art by members of the Saint Mary’s art group brought a massive turnout of both islanders and visitors.

Over 300 people went along to the Masonic Hall for the day-long showcase of amateur art.

And it proved lucrative for some members who sold many of their art works.

The event also raised cash for the Air Ambulance.

Di Barnes, one of the organisers, says that she’s been delighted with the turnout. Most popular with the visitors were the landscapes and seascapes and Veronica Grant won the “Best in Show” prize for her pastel seascapes.
