Police Use Pepper Spray During Incident

St Mary’s Police have discharged pepper spray whilst dealing with an islander whom they allege was very drunk and acting aggressively.

Officers were called out at around 12.30am on Tuesday morning by a member of the public who heard noise after a male tried to enter the wrong property.

The male, in his 40s, was held for a time in the police station cell.

He has been bailed and will be interviewed further in connection with allegations of being drunk and disorderly, assaulting a police officer and criminal damage to the police station.
