Ten members have been appointed to the LEP from both the private and public sector.

It will take over some of the roles of the Regional Development Agency next year and Philip Hygate will represent Scilly.

Lord Robin Teverson, who opened our Economic Development Unit at Porthmellon and described at the time as a ‘friend of Scilly’ will also serve.

The board also includes:

  • Gaynor Coley from the Eden Project
  • Simon Tregoning from holiday rental company, Classic Cottages
  • Alec Robertson, Leader of Cornwall Council.

LEP Chairman, Chris Pomfret said “This is a time of both great challenge and great opportunity for businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and the LEP has a key role to play in ensuring that we
work together to create new jobs and a better environment for business growth.”
