Perfect Weather For Rotary Club Fun Day

Everything turned out nice for the Rotary Club fundraiser day yesterday.

The sun came out just as the event started and Rotarian Murray Hodgson says he was relieved to see the rain end minutes before the event started on Holgate’s Green, as previous May Bank Holiday fundays have been a washout.

Murray says the bouncy castle proved a hit but it was touch and go as to whether it would happen – a team of volunteers spent the previous week repairing holes in the rubber structure to make it airtight.

And the Rotary Club has stepped in to take over the insurance for the castle from the Round Table.

The Firefighters couldn’t show their car rescue skills this year as too many were rostered to work at the airport but instead islanders were treated to line dancing by the Scilly Beez group.
