Richard Hand will be able to develop his haulage business premises with a new office, staff room and room for storing and maintaining vehcicles.

Council planners have backed a new building on Porthmellon Industrial Estate.

The steel framed structure will be clad in vertical timber and will be 14m x 10m.

Allen Hicks wrote to the the Council suggesting that it should be green, in line with other units in the area.

Chief Planning Officer Craig Dryden said it was a large building but not as big as some on the estate adding that the Council offices next door, the former Garden and Decor store, already has permission to add another floor.

Craig recommended approval as it would help the business and improve the look of the industrial estate.
