New Glazing Business In Old Town Given Green Light

A new glazing service could start in Scilly afer Councillors backed an application to base the business at the back of the Old Town Studio, accessed by Launceston Close.

The timber shed will house a tradesman cutting glass for building projects.

It’s a plan which Councillor Christine Savill welcomed as adding diversity to the local economy.

Oriel Hicks produces glass material for arts but doesn’t want to continue with commercila and building supplies.

A local farmer first objected to the plan to erect an 8m x 4m x 3m structure as he felt it would block his tractor access but after negotiation the applucant re-sited the planned unit five meters away from originally intended so the objection has been withdrawn.
