Bryher Play Area Gets Green Light

A letter of support for the construction of play furniture on Bryher from Tresco and Bryther School Council reps Zoe and Jack hit the right notes with planners on Tuesday night.

Planners approved the application for kit aimed at 4-12 year olds, to be placed by the community centre.

Planning chair Amanda Martin, to whom the letter was written, commented that it was nice that youngsters bothered to write a pleasant letter and added she wished that more young people would show an interest.

Councillor David Pearson, wearing his Children’s Committee hat, told planners that they were trying to improve things for children on the islands and they were moving in the right direction.

Planners approved the erection of two pieces of core playing equipment next to the community centre because they would bring benefits to young people, and because children had chosen and recommended the items.
