She’ll be taken on a tour of projects that will receive European cash by council staff later and is expected to visit the Porthmellon industrial estate which is to be transformed with new road surfaces and a new business starter unit where the currently vacant wholesalers site is.

Julie will also be taken to look at Porthcressa where survey work has been carried out recentlly in preparation for the regeneration of the site and creation of a new housing and a purpose built library in the Bulb Store.

She’s also expected to visit St Mary’s Quay to see what would have been a partially European-funded project to redevelop passenger and freight facilities under the route partnership project .

Her four day visit will also take in some off-island projects supported by the Local Action Group, which again isfunded by money from the EU.
