NHS To Fund Projects That Enhance Islanders’ Health

Community groups or individuals with projects that will broadly improve islanders’ health and wellbeing can apply for grant funding from today under the small award scheme with our local NHS.

Up to £300 is available for initiatives that involve some form of exercise or other approaches to increasing wellbeing on the islands.

In the past, the St Mary’s Bat group, who operate bat walks, have had cash for bad weather clothing, the Gig club has had clothing bought for their juniors and seating has been bought for the St Mary’s Art club who walk around the island sketching and painting during the summer.

You can apply for funding from the NHS until June 3rd 2011.
