Scilly MEP To Visit In May

One of Scilly’s MEPs will be visiting the islands later this month and wants to hear from you.

Julie Girling, the Conservative MEP representing Scilly, will be visiting on 17th May and will be answering questions about her role and the European Parliament on Radio Scilly.

She is one of the 6 elected representatives for the southwest region that includes Gloucestershire in the north and Gibraltar in the south.

Julie sits on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety committee so has a keen interest in the environment, including leading a campaign to “Save the Bee”. She is also a substitute on the Fisheries Committee.

Later in the day, Julie is also expected to meet Council Economic Development staff.
