Invite to WI Meeting

Island women are being invited to a WI meeting tonight that will help decide the national groups’ political agenda.

Members across the UK will discuss which campains they want to take to government.

Up for debate is action to stop the proliferation of mega farms, the closure of libraries and the withdrawal of cheques!

It is not just St Mary’s WI that will be debating these issues, but WIs throughout the country and in Cornwall alone there are over 4000 members. Maureen Carter says members in Scilly could potentially have their concerns tackled through the national organisation.

The meeting is at 7.30pm at the Methodist Hall.
