Images Of Scilly Captured For Wildlife Trust Centenary

A landscape photographer will be taking shots of Scilly this week as part of a UK-wide tour arranged by Wildlife Trusts.

Mike McFarlane is touring the UK and photographing 120 locations as part of the Living Landscape initiative.

The project aims to capture images of the countryside as it is really used with multiple users rather than picture postcard views.

Mike says it takes time to guage the mood of an area. He’s only here for 5 days and he says that’s not very long to be able to get to know such a unique location.

The intention of the project is to provide a complete audio visual display of the islands’ landscape and viewers will be able to zoom in on 360° panoramic photos and hear the ambient sound recorded when the pictures were taken.

Mike says his work will show Scilly as it is, warts and all, rather than a tourism brochure image

The images of Scilly will form part of a national exhibition to mark 100 years of Wildlife Trusts next summer. More details can be found here.
